Besides the freestyle kayaking competitions, lots of other spectacular shows and exhibitions will take place during the ICF Thun 2009. Athletes dedicated to all kinds of freestyle sports will be presenting exciting and breathtaking performances for everybody to enjoy! Here are some examples of what can be expected: KAYAK BIG AIR
Be there, when riders will throw themselves off an 8-meter ramp and perform tricks like double flips and crazy spins in their boats right in front of your eyes. The Kayak Big Air is an absolute highlight in this year's event and you better make sure not to miss it! |
RAFTING HIGH ENDERAt the Thun River Jam 2008, the Rafting High Ender came back to life! It promises tons of fun, spectacle and even gives the visitors a possibility to become a part of this event themselves. Teams of 8 to 10 people try to bring the raft on top of the wave in a vertical position and touch an object hanging above the wave. Against all expectations, this turned out to be the public's most favorite side event of last years River Jam. |
SURF SHOWS Some of Switzerland's most famous surfers will be surfing the wave and showing their skills to the audience. Thun has become the "surf city of the alps", since you might be able to feel a little touch of hawaii in this so charming city. |
SLACKLINE SHOWThe world famous alpinist Stefan Siegrist will span his slackline across the river Aare and will deliver an amazing show, balancing his way across the river on top of it. This requires not only an enormous amount of concentration, but a incredible sense of balance. BE THERE! |
KING OF THE WAVEThe goal of this very special form of competition is to determine the king or queen of the wave. Numerous riders try to stay in the wave as long as possible, all at the same time, and with any methods considered necessary. Whoever is riding the wave at the final whistle is crowned king/queen. Lots of action and laughs are guaranteed! | These are only some of this year's highlights. We look forward to presenting you further exciting events at the ICF Thun 2009!
