"At KEEN, we believe in encouraging everyone to create, play, and care...for us it’s a way of life, we call it HybridLife. This way of thinking has allowed KEEN to push the envelope of corporate social responsibility around three key areas: Environment, Community and Growth. It also led the American Outdoor Industry Association to award KEEN in January 2007 with the "Innovator Award".

The HybridLife-philosophies have found lots of fans and devotees, which already formed a fast growing KEEN HybridLife Community. The KEEN websites provides an ideal platform for the community to express themselves and share their ideas worldwide. KEEN also supports projects around the world from inspiring individual, who try to make this world a better place. One of them is Simon Hirter, Organizer of the ICF World Championships 2009 and KEEN Opinion Leader. He cares about our planet and one of his main goals in life is to find ways to protect our environment and the beauty that is given to us for future generations. He's also a committed member of the WWF Riverwatch Project. When travelling it's only natural for him to support myclimate.org, a Switzerland based non-profit organisation trying to reduce CO2 emissions worldwide. Sustainabilty is a main focus in the organizing process of the ICF Thun 2009. The event means to be a role model regarding ecologic, ehtic and social responsibility. Simon's first event in 2005 has been awarded by BUWAL and Swiss Olympics for exactly those reasons. The use of green electricity, recycling-possibilities, the close collaboration with swiss public transport and mostly local dealers, shows that Simon Hirter really wants to realize his visions. The ICF Thun 2009 integrates all of KEEN's philosophies of a HybridLife into one event, which makes KEEN the perfect partner!
